So, you’re thinking of taking the leap and perfecting your eyebrows with microblading. We want you to love every step as well as the outcome, which is why we’re committed to giving our clients an in-depth look at what they can expect after their procedure.
From what is normal to how long you can expect the healing process to take, with the information provided and included self-care tips, you can make the best decision for you.
Day-by-Day Microblading Healing Process
If you don’t know what to expect, microblading can seem like a daunting experience. To help prepare you for your session, we offer you a day-by-day look at what you can expect following your appointment.
Days 1-3: Eyebrows look full and have a darker shade. Don’t worry about the intensity as it will fade to a more natural look. You also might notice some redness, tenderness, and mild swelling.
Days 3-5: This is when the color will be most intense as the redness starts to fade.
Days 5-8: Eyebrows will start to flake as color begins to fade. Avoid picking at the scabs.
Days 8-12: Flaking will have stopped or is minimal.
Days 12-21: Color and texture start to look more natural.
Days 21-30: Skin has healed and there is no more redness, tenderness, or flaking.
Microblading Dry Healing
Dry healing prevents the color from lifting, but it can also cause a lot of scabbing and redness during the healing process.
Dry healing works when you don’t get your brows wet. This includes when you wash your face, shower, and do water activities like swimming. Even intense exercise that causes you to sweat can compromise dry dealing. You want to keep the brows as dry as possible.
Microblading Wet Healing
Wet healing has become more popular because it allows you to get remarkable results but without as much scabbing and redness.
Wet healing involves cleansing the brows with an approved permanent makeup cleanser solution that is specifically designed for your brows. How often you clean the area will be recommended by your brow artist, but once at night and once in the morning is typical.
While there is more work for you to do with wet healing in comparison to dry healing, the color tends to be more even with this method, and you’ll likely notice that your microblading before and after is more natural and professional in appearance.
Microblading Aftercare
Prior to booking, clients want to know how committed they need to be to their new brows. They often wonder is microblading permanent?
Microblading is a semi-permanent makeup technique. While you will require touch-ups, you expect to enjoy your newly microbladed brows for a year or two. Proper brow care is a key factor in how long your brows last and how good they look.
Microblading aftercare should not be complicated and the less you do, the better. Don’t apply a lot of products to the area, and avoid scrubbing or using any exfoliating products. None of these practices will speed healing.
If you’re not sure if your current cleanser will work on your newly microbladed brows, consult with your technician prior to leaving your appointment. Using a cleanser that is too harsh could result in your brows fading prematurely.
